Mori Breaks Ground on New HQ

Mori Seiki U.S.A. has begun construction of its new American corporate headquarters and showroom. The 102,000-square-foot facility will be situated on a 7.5-acre site in Chicago, Illinois at McShane Corporation’s Huntington Woods Corporate Center business park in Hoffman Estates.

The company announced its expansion plans in January 2008 to accommodate growth in North and South America. The new headquarters will provide more than 59,000 square feet of Class A office space along with a fully featured 42,560-square-foot showroom. It will also house offices for the Chicago Technical Center, the Machining Technology Laboratory (MTL) and Mori Seiki University (MSU).

The facility will incorporate energy-efficient, precast exterior wall panels highlighted by gray-tinted window lines, while the two-story office component and the showroom will enjoy abundant natural lighting. The headquarters also will feature two 25-ton cranes and a 1-ton utility crane to facilitate the positioning and operation of the company’s line of machine tools.
