Mikron Tool has constructed a new 1,000-square-meter, two-story production hall, bringing the total production area to 3,500 square meters.

The new COO Elio Lupica of Mikron Switzerland AG Division Tool, inaugurated the new production facilities in the presence of the local authorities and representatives of the umbrella organizations AITI and Swissmem. The investments made signify further growth of the Ticino production site, enabling Mikron Tool to add additional production capacity and create new jobs.

During construction, Mikron Tool replaced the old oil heating system with a new mixing plant for heat recovery from production. Mikron Tool ceased using fossil fuels in December 2021. The refrigeration system was also completely replaced, which will reportedly save 350,000 kWh of electricity annually. This is in line with Mikron Tool’s commitment to environmentally friendly resource consumption.

Mikron says the expansion of production facilities also provides advantages to customers, including shorter delivery times due to increased capacity.
