The second annual MFG Day event, scheduled for October 4, aims to address common misconceptions about manufacturing through coordinated open houses across the United States. The event is designed to address the skilled labor shortage and connect with future generations while simultaneously improving the public image of manufacturing. Manufacturers and technical institutions will open their doors to students, parents, educators, customers and suppliers as well as the general public for tours, demonstrations and more. The effort is co-produced by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), The Manufacturing Institute and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
