Methods Machine Tools announces Metal Storm 2012, an open house event that will feature 50 machines under power at the companies Sudbury, Massachusetts headquarters and northeast regional technology center from June 13-14.
 
Attendees will see live demonstrations on such machines as Matsuura five-axis VMCs and HMCs; Nakamura multitasking turning centers; KIWA-Japan HMCs and VMCs; Feeler milling and turning centers; Fanuc RoboDrill five-axis VMCs; Fanuc wire EDM machines; Exeron die-sinker EDMs; Current EDM drilling machines; a Weiler USA semi-automatic lathe; Carl Zeiss CMMS and surface/roundness checking machines; and the VisionGauge digital optical comparator 300 series.
 
Other demonstrations will feature pre-engineered automation solutions, including a multiple-machine, robot-fed cell involving technology from Fanuc, Kiwa, Feeler and Carl Zeiss. Attendees are also invited to participate in technical seminars on topics including the use of lean pull systems, the use of multi-axis and five-axis machines to produce parts in one setup, short-run production techniques, and more. Vendors of software, tooling, workholding and other accessories will also exhibit products.
