CAM system developer Mastercam (Tolland, Connecticut) says its selection of learning tools enables customers get up-to-speed with its software at their own pace and via their own preferred learning methods, whether online, through video or through reading.

Online offerings include Mastercam University, CamInstructor and Streamingteacher. Mastercam University (MastercamU.com) provides online video training in which users design and program tool paths on real-world industrial parts. Courseware is delivered via more than 180 videos and can be used to prepare for official Mastercam certification. Featuring more than 40 hours of software demonstrations, CamInstructor.com offers a program that the company says is akin to working with a personal Mastercam instructor. At Streamingteacher.com, users can access streaming audio and video training materials on a subscription basis.

For multimedia and textbook training, the company offers various exercises accompanied by MCX files. The company offers more than 25 titles spanning four product lines for all complexity levels and learning cycles. Also available are “Tips for Manufacturing” video training CDs containing comprehensive software tutorials. Developed by a veteran programmer, the training CDs are designed to teach logical procedures for everyday programming problems and to ease review of infrequently used processes.
