Leaders-In background

At a recent visit to MAG’s facility in Hebron, Kentucky, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) praised the machine tool builder for its success in exporting products to manufacturers serving the aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment and renewable energy industries throughout the world. The company says it exports approximately 60 percent of machines built in Hebron.

Senator McConnell, whose wife is former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, was also impressed with the company’s nationally recognized apprenticeship training program. “A key to filling manufacturing jobs is getting workers trained with skills vital to the job, and MAG is achieving that through this program.” The company currently supports 12 apprentices through its program with Gateway Community & Technical College. The program has also been featured in an NBC Nightly News report and as part of the “Education Nation” summit in New York City last year.
