MAG Funds Composites Institute

Philadelphia University and machine tool builder MAG (New York, New York) are establishing a new institute for research and development of new textile-based composites that could have wide application in the aerospace, automotive, energy and other industries.   The Philadelphia University MAG Composites Institute will be funded in part by $1.1 million from MAG.

Philadelphia University and machine tool builder MAG (New York, New York) are establishing a new institute for research and development of new textile-based composites that could have wide application in the aerospace, automotive, energy and other industries.
 
The Philadelphia University MAG Composites Institute will be funded in part by $1.1 million from MAG. In addition to the institute, the funding will support a new Bachelor’s in Engineering program with a concentration in composites. The first courses will be available in fall 2011.
