Kitamura Machinery, a manufacturer of horizontal, vertical and five-axis machining centers, has announced that it is expanding its manufacturing facility in Takoaka City, Japan, from its current 171,300 square feet to 208,000 square feet. The company says this expansion will support production of larger-size, high performance HMCs currently in high demand in industries including aerospace, automotive, heavy construction and oil and gas. Completion is planned for October, in time for the company's 75th anniversary in November. The company also has expanded the territory of one if its dealers to include much of the Northeast U.S. JBM Technologies has been awarded exclusive rights to represent the company's products in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and the northern tip of Virginia. This expands the dealer's original territory, which includes New Jersey, Long Island, New York and portions of Pennsylvania and Delaware. All services will be provided out of sales offices in Ivyland, a suburb of Philadelphia, and Meadville, which is located in northwestern Pennsylvania.
