Kennametal has announced that it will present two “learning labs” during the inaugural Interactive Manufacturing Experience (imX) event, which is scheduled for September 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The presentations are titled “Delivering Productivity from Art to Part” and “From Megatrends to Solutions: Turning Change into Opportunity,” respectively. The former examines the entire production chain so that manufacturers can leverage opportunities to combine traditional metalcutting techniques and the latest technology with non-metalcutting approaches. The result, the company says, is reduced downtime and increased profitability. The latter presentation emphasizes the integration of evolving process knowledge with rapidly changing economic and geopolitical trends to keep leading industrial companies ahead of the curve.

Sponsored jointly by the American Machine Tool Distributors Association (AMTDA) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), imX is an invitation-only event that departs from the “traditional trade show model” in favor of a more interactive, educational experience, organizers say.
