Free Software For Ohio Manufacturers

Inspired by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland’s commitments to job creation and retention along with environmental sustainability, Factivity, Inc. is offering its paperless factory floor software for free to Ohio manufacturers who want to be lean and green.

“First fuel costs, and now the struggling economy, have brought sustainability to the forefront of every manufacturers agenda,” says John Leibert, president of Factivity. “Sustainability will continue to drive business strategy, corporate value and new products in 2009, and we are looking to support that growth locally.”

Governor Strickland recently said that energy is at the core of Ohio’s economic and environmental health—in short, the state’s future. This inspired Mr. Leibert to ask how Factivity could contribute to that future. So, throughout this year, the company will provide its software without licensing fees to any Ohio-based manufacturing company that supplies products to the renewable energy industry or produces energy-efficient, sustainable products.

The company’s “paperless” production control system provides visual control, rate-based measurements, problem identification and process improvement. It often eliminates factory-floor documentation used for production control, quality tracking and ISO-9000 controlled documentation distribution.
