The rental plan is designed for companies that need shop management software but have not yet justified the cost of purchasing a full-featured system. JobBoss automates several aspects of managing a job shop, including job costing, work cell scheduling, job estimating and shopfloor control.
According to the company, renting the software enables manufacturers to record costs on an operational budget rather than as a capital expenditure, thereby reducing investment risk. It adds that startup costs are reduced because the cost of owning the system is spread out over the contract period, while the low, up-front investment enables users to recoup their investment nearly immediately.
The monthly rental fee covers software, training, technical support and all software upgrades. Contract terms range from 2 to 5 years with an option to renew upon expiration.
