Event To Showcase Latest Grinding Technology
As many as 2,500 people are expected to attend the Shleifring Grinding Symposium 2009 from May 6 through 8 at the Trade Fair Center Thun Expo in Thun, Switzerland. Organized by the Schleifring Group, the symposium will showcase new products from member companies and offer technology demonstrations designed to help visitors increase production and quality during precision machining. These practical demonstrations will be supplemented by specialized lectures in which leading industry experts will present the latest trends in research and development.

Fritz Studer AG, one of the eight member companies that will give technical presentations, offers solutions for universal, internal and production cylindrical grinding. The company will showcase its StuderGrind/StuderTechnology software by using it to program an S33 universal cylindrical grinding machine. According to the company, the software enables users to accelerate the grinding process by 50 percent or more via quick, secure and easy part program creation.
Other Studer products on display will include the S21 universal cylindrical grinder, which is designed for angular plunging and external and internal thread grinding; the CT-450L, CT-960 and S120 internal cylindrical grinders; and the S242, which combines cylindrical grinding operations with hard turning.
