Open Mind Technologies USA, developer of HyperMill, and tool manufacturer Emuge Corp. are teaming up to host a free Lunch and Learn Workshop with a focus on advanced strategies for five-axis milling. The event will take place June 12, 2019, at Emuge’s North American corporate headquarters and technology center in Boylston, Massachusetts. Manufacturing professionals are invited to attend, and may register here.
Experts from both companies will present strategies on how to reduce cycle times and improve surface finishes and tool life by taking advantage of new end mills and CAM software in five-axis machining. In addition to short presentations, the event will feature live custom milling demonstrations on a Hermle C 42 five-axis mill-turn, which will machine a bladed component with Emuge’s circle segment (conical barrel) end mills and HyperMill Maxx Machining.
A catered lunch will be offered, and a Q&A session will conclude the event.
“Our collaboration with Open Mind to develop circle segment machining has enabled dramatic productivity improvements for challenging applications, such as in aerospace. We are pleased to demonstrate this leading cutting tool and CAM software solution at the event,” says Emuge President Bob Hellinger.
Open Mind Managing Director Alan Levine adds that the workshop will be “an excellent opportunity for attendees to consult with Open Mind and Emuge experts to solve their toughest aerospace milling challenges.”
