EMO Hannover 2017 to Focus on Internet of Things Concepts, Trends
The show is scheduled to take place September 18-23, 2017 in Germany.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will open EMO Hannover, which is scheduled to take place September 18-23, 2017. Following a four-year pause, the trade fair for the metalworking sector will once again be opening its doors in Hannover, Germany. Following the motto, “Connecting systems for intelligent production,” the show will spotlight the issues of digitization and networking for production operations.
By June 2017, more than 2,050 companies from 45 countries had signed up to exhibit. There are currently more than 1,400 exhibitors from Europe alone. The number of Asian participants has increased from 21 to 25 percent. “This means the current registration status is significantly above the comparable figure for the previous event,” says Carl Martin Welcker, General Commissioner of the show.
EMO’s organizers say they are confident that the show will generate impetus for implementing Industry 4.0 or the Internet of Things (IoT) concepts.
“In the machine tool [sector], we have long since implemented digitalization,” says Mr. Welcker. “Digital images, for example, for simulations have likewise been possible for quite a long time now.” Under the keyword of Industry 4.0, he says, the task now is to network the entire production operation, including the complete added-value chain.
EMO 2017 will also offer a broad spectrum of presentations on commercial and technical issues including Industry 4.0; the production operations of tomorrow; additive manufacturing processes; metalcutting in the aerospace industry; the safety of machine tools; the development of the markets in the USA, Mexico and India; startups for intelligent production; youth recruitment; and more.
