Electrox (Letchworth, United Kingdom), a member of the 600 Group, has acquired U.S. laser specialist Tykma (Chillicothe, Ohio) in a deal that will enable the company to grow in North America. With 80 percent of its stake now owned by 600 Group, Tykma will report to the group through new CEO David Grimes. Together, the companies will offer a range of laser marking systems and technologies to the manufacturing industry.

“Our recent success has been primarily in the U.K. and Europe, so the natural target for further growth lies across the Atlantic,” explains Paul Mincher, Electrox’s managing director for European operations. “You might say that, on our own, Electrox had half of the alphabet. With Tykma integrated into our operation, we can offer the full A-to-Z of laser marking needs, from entry-level systems up to high-end multi-axis machines.”
