Stratasys says a new leasing program will provide designers, engineers, teachers and others with everything needed to print 3D models for a monthly price that is lower than the average cost of a single outsourced model. The bundled lease packages special edition uPrint 3D printers, startup supplies, a support removal system and cleaning agent.
Designed for office use, the printers produce parts in ABS industrial thermoplastic withing a 25-by-26-inch footprint and do not require a dedicated operator. According to the company, the uPrint special edition machines offer 40 percent more material per spool than the original uPrint series to enable longer unattended runs and less frequent spool changes.
