AMT Appoints New President

Robert K. Simpson will become president of AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology on October 7, the organization's board of directors announced today. Mr. Simpson will join the association on June 2 to work with current President John B. Byrd III, whose retirement comes after five years with AMT. Mr. Simpson, 48, has worked in manufacturing operations for 25 years and has significant international experience. Most recently, he served as corporate vice president and president of Global Plastics Machinery for Milacron of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Simpson has also served as president of Siege-Robert Automotive in St. Louis, Missouri and held executive positions within Textron and TRW. The incoming president holds a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio as well as an MBA from Western International University in Phoenix, Arizona.
