Why Are You Coming to IMTS?
Why are people coming to IMTS this year? We chatted with these creators about what keeps them coming to the show year after year.
Meaghan Ziemba | Technical Writer, Host of Mavens of Manufacturing Podcast
“I go because I’m a technical writer, and I really enjoy learning from all the exhibitors. I’m also an advocate for getting young people into manufacturing careers, so I’m bringing a bus full of kids from the high school I graduated from this year, as well as a robotics team called Turtletek with a dozen kids on the team. I love having the chance to get them experience with industry professionals.”
Drew Crowe | Founder of the New American Manufacturing Renaissance
“I’ve been in the past as a vendor. That was a great opportunity to meet customers for the first time. Now it’s not just about seeing the cool machines, but the opportunity to network and experience a meeting of the minds. There’s no place better to work with people in the industry.”
“I brought my kids to the last IMTS. As a parent, I loved seeing them be able to interact with things at the Smartforce student summit. It really opened their eyes, and when we came back to St. Louis their teachers said they were adding to the lesson in a way they wouldn’t have been able to explore without being there.”
Jim Mayer | Founder at The Manufacturing Connector
“To me, IMTS is really about the people working in this industry. It’s the connections that are made, and the catching up with old and new friends. It’s the energy that both the exhibitors and attendees have just because they are there. It’s the excitement that first timers have when they walk into the main exhibit halls. It’s also about seeing how the tech on display affects the people who use it, making manufacturing a better, more desirable industry for the workers of today and tomorrow. I am attending IMTS to witness firsthand the handshake between people and technology.”
Note: Manske has attended every IMTS since 1967!
Patrick Manske | CEO/Owner Manske Machinery
“IMTS is for the curious-minded! IMTS continues to be the premier industry show to see ground-breaking technology, forge connections, spark ideas and inspire solutions.”
“It’s breathtaking to see how far manufacturing has evolved — from the days of many hand-on manipulations using round trig tables and slide rules to today’s automation and digital technologies. The world will continue to need creative problem solvers, and manufacturing will lead the charge from medical breakthroughs to space exploration. I encourage anyone who wants to make things or know how things are made to attend IMTS.”
