Once Tracey Gear’s machinists realized the importance of switching back to CAM, they took the initiative to create a standard, digital template for setup sheets that can be deciphered by anyone on the shop floor.
 
When integrating a new process, strategy or piece of equipment, there’s always the risk that your employees won’t share the same enthusiasm you have for the change. On the other hand, it’s possible that they will not only embrace the new approach, but they will take the initiative to build upon it. That was the case for Tracey Gear when it recently decided to revert back to CAM programming because conversational programming at its turning centers proved to limit the shop's responsiveness.
