High Speed Machining 2.0
We just launched a revised and expanded version of our High Speed Machining Zone.
We just launched a revised and expanded version of our High Speed Machining Zone. We’ve added new content to the zone, much of which is video. (One even shows a no-talent amateur explaining what high speed machining is.)
However, the new zone also features new organization—and this change is also significant. As with past HSM coverage, articles are organized into “Aerospace” and “Die/Mold” machining subtopics—two main industry areas where high speed machining is used. A new subtopic is “Harmonic,” which groups content related to chatter control and resonant frequency machining. Yet another new subtopic is “Low Speed, High MRR,” a content area that recognizes how shops are realizing HSM-like benefits without necessarily needing a fast spindle.
With regard to this last subtopic area in particular, be sure to check back. The list of our resources addressing the “low speed” varieties of high speed machining will soon grow.
