Leaders-In background

Mastercam’s Mike Rosa manages a machine shop whose customers’ customers are CAM software end users.

Last year, I visited the Mastercam machining lab on the campus of CNC Software’s headquarters in Tolland, Connecticut. CNC software is the developer of Mastercam software for programming CNC machine tools. This shop is rather unlike the typical machine shop, although its mission is to test CAM software in a “real-world” setting.

Mike Rosa, manager of the Mastercam machine shop, has collected his comments directed to the “outside world.” They explain what makes this shop different and unusual, yet perfectly suited for its main purpose—helping software writers created better CAM software.

Here are his comments.
