The industrial parts cleaning process is universally necessary across many manufacturing sectors, making IMTS an ideal location for the Parts Cleaning Conference (PCC). Presented by Gardner Business Media brands, Products Finishing, Production Machining and Modern Machine Shop, the 2024 conference will be held on Sept. 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the East Building, rooms E353B and E353C. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and a reception for all attendees and speakers following the sessions from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The conference — sponsored by Brulin, Evident Scientific, iFP Clean, Jomesa North America and Kyzen — offers educational presentations by manufacturing cleaning industry leaders who will speak about industry trends, new technologies and expert processes. Plenty of occasions for networking are also offered.
As PCC co-chairs again this year, Darren Williams and Lori Beckman have carefully crafted the agenda to include a unique lineup of presentations with several speakers who are new to the conference and with topics that have not been covered in past editions of this event.
The conference will provide a program where attendees will not only learn about general cleaning topics that effect every company involved in cleaning but they will be given the opportunity to sit in on presentations that cover alternative cleaning methods, cleaning best practices, automotive/technical cleanliness and sustainable cleaning.
Examples of presentations featured at the PCC include “Future-Proof Options for PFAS Replacement,” by Kyzen’s Beth Bivins; “Laser Cleaning/Ablation: a Novel Tool in Manufacturing,” by Dmitri Novikov at IPG Phototonics; “Optimizing Tank Life: The Crucial Role of pH Maintenance” by Patrick Johnson at Brulin; and “Technical Cleanliness Challenges with E-Mobility Components” by Markus Rossler at Glaeser Inc.
The backgrounds of past PCC attendees vary, holding titles such as president, director, manager and engineers among others. Registrants are employed by companies that perform abrasive machining/finishing, fabricating and lasers, and metalworking processes such as additive manufacturing/3D printing as well as gear generation.
“I always enjoy coming to the Parts Cleaning Conference because it is a great place to network with vendors, companies and related organizations to share knowledge and experience,” says Alicia McCarthy, laboratory specialist, Toxic Use Reduction Institute. “I always feel like I leave the conference with new connections and ideas.”
