ABA Water Systems offers a deionizing water system for high-speed WEDM cutting of carbide. WEDM requires pure water to hold tight tolerances. An EDM’s current and amperage; the wire and its coatings; the raw material; and the swarf and debris all affect quality control at production speeds, the company says. A high-quality resin demineralizes the water and maintains the water’s dielectric strength.
The model DI-728 is designed to hold critical conductivity and resistivity set points to produce a smooth finish and enhance the part. The water system is built for EDM departments that specialize in carbide or diamond or cut those materials almost exclusively. The skid-mounted systems are sized for production volumes.
The company provides products and services for a range of other water purification applications, including waterjet water recycling, process/parts-washer final rinse, electropolishing, plating, vibratory deburring, e-coat/paint preparation and ultrasonic cleaning.
