VMC Is Useful For Graphite Applications

Leaders-In background

The Benchman MX Graphite VMC by Intelitek, Inc. has a working envelope of 12" × 7" × 9.5" on the X, Y and Z axes respectively, the price performance is superior to what is available on other Graphite packages. According to the company, accuracy and good surface finishes are achieved because of the resolution of 0.00002" and the linear guideway motion system. “Zero backlash” ballscrews on all three axes are leveraged by a granite co-polymer base with vibration dampening characteristics.

Also included are a 45,000-rpm spindle motor; 2.66 hp and an ISO spindle taper that supports either a five- or 12-position toolchanger. The spindle uses standard ISO 10 tool holders and includes a graphite dust collection system. The package can also be equipped with a fourth-axis rotary simultaneous positioner. The base software allows users to write, edit, run, graphically verify, save, load and delete standard Fanuc-compatible EIA RS 274D G and M numerical code programs.

With repeatability of 0.0001" (0.00254 mm) and positioning accuracy of ± 0.0002" (± 0.00508 mm), this system is said to be useful for high-precision graphite applications.
