Developed by U S Shop Tools to keep drains free of aluminum and plastic chips on Haas CNC machines, the Chipinator runs off the existing programmable auger with a “corkscrew” type chip removal system. By keeping vents free of chips, the product enables coolant to circulate properly, helping manufacturers avoid the broken cutters and scrap parts that result from coolant starvation.
Made from hard, anodized 6061 aluminum, the product has five aluminum blades—three of which are spring-loaded—and a break-away design. This ensures the product will not harm the machine and allows the operator to run the machine unattended. According to the company, the device installs in less than 5 minutes.
