Developed to meet the needs of manufacturers and inspection companies that need to accurately gage a wide variety of tapered threads, the LG-5002 two-point lead gage is available from Gagemaker. The movable contact point is loaded in the pull direction, making it suitable for buttress, V or Acme thread forms.
Able to be used on both internal and external threads, the API thread-inspection gage uses industry-standard threaded contact points. The company says this makes stocking different styles of contact points unnecessary, because operators can use the same threaded contact points from other API gages. The dial indicator is also industry-standard. This is said to allow users to easily swap a damaged indicator for a new one and avoid sending the whole gage in for repair.
