Dillon Manufacturing’s aluminum full-grip jaws, available in sizes ranging from 5" to 24" in diameter, are ideal for machining thin-walled parts. These cast aluminum (356-T6), wrap-around-type top jaws provide minimum force and distribute the gripping pressure over more of the workpiece’s surface to maintain repetitive accuracy and reduce mechanical stress for longer tool life. According to the company, this type of jaw reduces distortion and provides more friction for turning operations. Designed to maintain close tolerances and concentricity, the jaws are suitable for applications such as valves, cylinders, specialty wheels and gears, housings and enclosures, adapters and connectors, aluminum and steel shells, flanges, retainer rings, and other thin-walled parts such as smog control air pump rotors, gas turbine parts and cylinder liners for diesel engines.
The jaws are available in both standard-height and extra-high versions, featuring high corrosion resistance. They can be adapted to mount both manual and power chucks.
