Wilson Instruments, an Instron company, has introduced the Indenter snap grip system to be used in conjunction with its Rockwell 2000 hardness tester.
Designed to securely hold the indenter in place, the system has an internal self-aligning spring to promote that the indenter is consistently aligned in the holder. This allows for exact perpendicularity of the indenter when performing a test, the company says. The new design replaces the “Gripsel,” a spring ball detent previously employed in the Rockwell testers.
