Support Bearing Units for Miniature Ballscrews, Steinmeyer, Inc.

Leaders-In background

Series SLS and SLF are industry standard support bearing assemblies from the company’s ballscrew product line.  The company claims these series provide cost savings to machine engineers and manufacturers as they eliminate design and assembly time.  Each assembly includes backlash-free, sealed precision duplex bearings, locknut and housing.  According to the company, this can come in either a pillow block design (SLS) ready for attachment to a flat surface, or a round unit with rectangular flange (SLF). Since the bearings are greased for life, the company says there is no maintenance required.  The company designed the two new series in four sizes for bearing inside diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. They are only compatible with the company's precision ground miniature ballscrews series 1112, 1214, 1412 and 1510 and their respective counterparts in rolled thread (series 1132, 1234, 1432 and 1530).

When ordered, the company provides the bearing units already assembled on the screw and ready for installation.  In addition, for screws with longer thread, the company says a single radial support bearing is also included on the back end.
