Available from Extensible CAD Technologies, the updated InspectionXpert for CATIA V5 introduces support for 3D models in addition to previously supported 2D drawings. According to the company, many users have standardized exclusively on 3D models throughout their design and manufacturing process, so the ability to balloon CATIA 3D models helps streamline the quality inspection process.

The inspection report automation software eliminates the need for manually ballooning CAD drawings and files and manually typing dimensions into Excel for First Article and In-Process inspection reports. The software is a Dassault Systemes Partner Product. It is also available in versions that read PDF and TIFF files as well as SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD and Solid Edge drawings.
