Iscar Metals, Inc. now offers Mini-Tangslot tools, which are slotting cutters that carry tangentially-clamped inserts with four cutting edges. The custom design of the chipformer can help reduce cutting forces, leaving a clean, undamaged surface, the company says. Less chatter is another potential benefit, thereby contributing to improving tooling life.
The tools are available as the SDN D..-LN08 disk type cutters or the ETS D..-LN08 T-slot cutters, with integral shanks and internal coolant holes. Operators can machine to within ±0.0031" while using these cutters.
