Leaders-In background

Haimer USA’s shrink-fit machine, Power Clamp Sprint i4.0, is being marketed as an entry point into the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The machine is engineered to provide both ergonomic operation and integrated cooling for all types of cutting tools (for example, solid carbide and high speed steel, or HSS) in a short time. A special holding fixture enables use of the machine with ER collets, expanding the Sprint i4.0’s use to Swiss-type and live tooling.

The system features software said to simplify usability, an intelligent cooling system with temperature control, and a durable 7" touchscreen display. Users can also customize the Sprint i4.0 with a laser scanner to read and set shrinking parameters automatically. These capabilities are said to eliminate variation between tool changes, resulting in repeatable uniformity in tooling setup and therefore consistent quality results.
