The DM2 Company’s new self-centering indexing chucks are available from TPS International. Intended for use with machining centers and special purpose machine tools, the chuck is useful for machining parts requiring multi-port or multi-side machining commonly associated with various aluminum die casting, plumbing and fluid power applications.
The chucks are capable of indexing 360 degrees in 2-second increments and provide rotational accuracy of 0.002 mm. The self-centering system is said to eliminate the need for flat plate fixturing; it can be used as a single fixture or can be ganged for tombstone applications.
