Rotary Draw Bender

Leaders-In background

The company’s new rotary draw Giga Bender GB140 produces repeatable accurate bends in tubes or pipes up to 6" in diameter. The gear case, with two bend speeds and brush-free induction motors, accommodates 0- to 180-degree bends with a centerline radius as tight as three times the material diameter without a mandrel. An optional mandrel system adapts the bender for bends requiring an internal mandrel. Tooling is available with a centerline bend radius as large as 39", and special tooling is available for squares, solids and other profiles. The bender’s programmable control with digital display stores 30 individual programs, each with nine separate bend angle and material spring-back values. The tooling mounts to a hex shaft for minimizing setup and increasing productivity. Semi-automatic counter bend die positioning increases clearance for loading and unloading the workpiece.

The bender’s minimum tube diameter is 1", while its maximum diameter is 5.5" with a 0.22" wall thickness. It has bend speeds of 1.1 or 2.2 rpm, although a high speed version is available upon request with a 3- or 6-rpm capability. Also, the bender has an NC semi-automatic control with ten bend programs and nine bends in each program. Its motor is 7.5-9.6 kW and has three-phase 208 V to 440 V. The bender weighs 3,960 lbs.
