The Precision TIG 185 is a welding machine with micro‑start technology, auto‑balance and standard pulse controls. This machine offers an operating range of 5 amps for thin materials and up to a maximum of 185 amps for heavier applications. In addition to these features, the company also says the machine has a built-in, top-mounted torch parts storage compartment and detachable, side-mounted hanger for torch, cable or helmet storage. The torch cable is said to reduce operator fatigue, while the control panel features large knobs for adjustment with a gloved hand. The unit’s optional cart adds a storage bin for a remote output control and cables, a low-lift shielding gas bottle platform and multiple filler rod stands.
