Featuring a positive geometry designed to reduce cutting forces and increase feed rates, Kennametal's KSOM Mini face-milling platform is built for aluminum, cast iron, stainless steels and high-temperature alloys. Suitable for face milling, ramping, helical ramping, slotting and plunging, the platform comprises a range of direct-pressed carbide inserts with 25-degree clearance angles and eight cutting edges. Axial depth of cut is 3.5 mm (0.14") using all eight edges, and temporary axial depth of cut can be as deep as 9.0 mm (0.354") using four edges.
