Fastems will introduce version 6 of its Manufacturing Management software (MMS) for automated pallet handling, which plans production from an ERP system, administrating NC programs and tool data. It also monitors tool life, prompting the operator for new tooling if required, and enables users to rearrange schedules in real time, taking changed priorities into account.

Version 6 offers a user interface based on HTML 5, which supports various hardware platforms and operating systems for transitioning to Industry 4.0. Because it is browser-based, users can access current production information, plan production and monitor data from anywhere via secure internet connections using a range of devices including smartphones and tablets.

Other improvements include utilities for advance production order; simulation of anticipated capacity usage level in an automatic production process along with related order-dependent production schedule; tools that enable users to verify the future production resource requirements; and a planning feature that provides users with an overview of the current production process, its progression through the system and the completion of orders by the deadline date. These enable the software to provide insights into ongoing production processes so users can plan future runs more precisely.

The company will also share information about its Flexible Manufacturing Systems, robotics and other automation solutions, specifically as they relate to gear manufacturing.
