Octagonal O-Rings

According to the company, Octi-ring is a line of o-ring seals for retrofit sealing applications. The seal is said to minimize damage during cylinder assembly operations (from a long rod traveling over the seal). The company says their o-ring seals are available for 1/8" ID to 80" OD and application temperature ranges from –40º F to +400º F. Special grades are available from the company for water hydraulics as applied in demanding drilling, mining and petroleum recovery. The company says their seals will extend cylinder service life in such applications as end cap sealing, long stroke cylinders, high cycle cylinders and water hydraulics. Also, the chamfers of the octagonal seals allows the seals to flex and minimize vibration or chattering that shortens the life of standard o-rings, says the company.
