View MoreThe MultiEdge Double 8 cutter from LMT Fette is said to be ideal for economically machining mild steels and cast iron materials. Inserts can be used on both sides, for a total of 16 cutting edges. Axial depths of cut are no more than 0.118" for ONGU 0505 inserts and 0.157" for ONGU 0606 inserts, yet the fully ground cutting edges increase feed rates and productivity. These fully ground octagonal, double-sided inserts are available in three carbide grades: the general-purpose LC225T, the extra-tough LC240T and the wear-resistant LC610T. The LC610T insert is also available in a wiper design for improved surface finish. The insert’s broad-finishing geometry allows the user to achieve high feed rates while maintaining a quality finish, the company says.
