Nidec Machine Tool Corporation has launched the MVR-Cx series of double-column machining centers as its first new product since becoming a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation. The MVR-Cx series is designed to be a simple, easy-to-use machine. It is suitable for single-item and high-mix low-volume production.

Standard ATC tool storage capacity is 50, with the option to increase to 80. The newly developed Nidec Navi operation support function, which is meant to reduce production time between receiving a job and shipping a product, comes as a standard feature. Original screens are available to simplify initial machining settings, such as program creation, debugging and centering of the workpiece before machining. Furthermore, 3D visual guidance is projected on the operation screen, and Nidec’s support center can remotely access the machine for monitoring or support. An optional collision prevention function is available.

The maximum spindle speeds are 4,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm, and the standard specification is a cylindrical attachment. Grease is used as lubricant for the main spindle and attachments.
