Leaders-In background

The TC series, a line of central chillers, uses new compressor technology. This centrifugal compressor is said to offer benefits over standard compressor technology.  According to the company, benefits include an oil-free design that virtually eliminates the need for an oil management system; the compressor shaft, which is the only major moving part; and sound levels of 71 dbA that decrease the need for sound deadening or mechanical room modifications.

A built-in, variable-speed drive motor and magnetic bearings help conserve energy by reducing compressor cycling. The magnetic bearings require two amps to levitate and start rotation of the compressor shaft.

The chillers use R-134 refrigerant and include expansion and condenser water regulating valves.
