Third Wave Systems offers Production Module version 5.9, an NC program optimization system that integrates workpiece material models, cutting tool geometries and machine dynamics to predict and display previously unattainable machining performance indicators. By plotting factors such as force, temperature and spindle power along the entire toolpath, the software enhances engineering expertise while enabling companies to identify processes that improve machining time, tool life and part quality.

The update includes 3D updates to user-defined tool profiles for complex tools and optimized settings archive for easy process replication.

2D updates include a feedback system for better detection of errors and unsupported commands; a split setup window to better match Production Module 3D workflow; force calculation and optimization speed ups; APT code support; and multiple tool offset definition.
