The Form-MasterSpeed high-feed mill has a hybrid design that incorporates features of both a button and back-drafted milling cutter. The dovetailed insert mounting “tucks” the insert into the cutter body. This design both stabilizes the insert edge during high speed roughing and removes the need for additional insert clamps that impede chip-wash across the insert face. The inserts have molded rake face geometry and are available in the company’s most wear resistant steel grade, IN2040, and crater resistant steel/stainless steel submicron grade, IN2005.
