Metrology Software Now Standard On CMMs
Useful for inspecting, measuring or reverse-engineering workpieces on the shop floor or in the metrology lab, the Romer CimCore family of portable CMMs is now available with factory-installed PC-DMIS metrology software. Available in two configurations— PC-DMIS Pro and PC-DMIS CAD, the software package includes technical support, as well as 1 year of upgrades and training at designated Hexagon Metrology Precision Centers located in Nashville, Tennessee; Lake Forest, California; Elgin, Illinois; and Wixom, Michigan.

Useful for inspecting, measuring or reverse-engineering workpieces on the shop floor or in the metrology lab, the Romer CimCore family of portable CMMs is now available with factory-installed PC-DMIS metrology software.
Available in two configurations— PC-DMIS Pro and PC-DMIS CAD, the software package includes technical support, as well as 1 year of upgrades and training at designated Hexagon Metrology Precision Centers located in Nashville, Tennessee; Lake Forest, California; Elgin, Illinois; and Wixom, Michigan.
Other features of the software are an intuitive graphic user interface that provides access to inspection routines and customizable menus to operators of varying skill levels; interactive tutorials designed to simplify common tasks and functions via a suite of wizards; and “one-click” routines that can expedite qualifying probes, generating reports, aligning parts, performing feature measurements, constructing features and previewing the measuring operation. The intuitive Probe and Go measurement automatically recognizes the feature type and creates an interactive on-screen representation of the part, the company says.
With PC-DMIS CAD, users can access 3D CAD data to create part programs (both online and off-line) and also to complete graphical part models. According to the company, interactive programming extracts nominal during measurement, thus reducing the time required to complete measuring.
