Heidenhain’s Quadra-Chek metrology software is designed to provide advanced functionality for inspection measurement machines and enable users to perform both 2D and 3D measurements. Building on the original Metronics Quadra-Chek QC5000 software, the IK5000 version 2.96 inspection package measures and graphically evaluates 3D contours using multi-sensor and tactile measuring machines. It imports a 3D CAD file (either STEP or IGES) and compares it with the actual measured part during profile measurement.

The software supports compensation for thermal growth and shrinkage of parts during manufacturing. Users can write a single inspection program if a part’s material has a known growth or shrinkage rate throughout a manufacturing process.

The metrology software features improved radial and palletize methods of automatic part programming routines. These routines are designed for common features or parts that repeat angularly, around a datum or based on a palletized grid layout. On video-based inspection machines, these improvements retain specific video tool sizes and the positions needed for measurement. They are then repeated based on the angle in which they are located around the datum or in reference to a linear layout. The palletize grid functionality enables the user to graphically select which parts are required for measurement and run the program only in those locations.

The system is compatible with Windows 7 (32bit) operating systems as well as Windows XP and Vista.
