With a maximum rated load of 6,600 lbs and a 3.5X safety factor, the ELM-3000 lifting magnet is available from Earth-Chain. The magnet is said to be safer to use than sling and strap system, because it will not slip or wear out. Users center the magnet on the metal they wish to lift and turn the lever to engage the magnet.
All EZ-Lift magnets are constructed from “rare earth” neodymium iron boron magnets, which are five times more powerful than other magnets. They need no electricity to operate and will never wear out, the company says. The magnets are available in six capacities. They are useful only with ferrous-based metals, such as iron and steel.
