Lathe-Mounted Finishing Tool For A Variety Of Materials

Dynabrade’s new Superfinisher is designed to achieve predictable, consistent and repeatable finishes on a variety of materials. When installed on a lathe, the tool delivers a uniform contact force between the workpiece and roller, according to the company. Suitable for wet or dry operation, the device can finish tungsten carbide, chilled iron, stainless steel, chrome plating, brass, copper and a variety of other materials. It uses abrasive rolls that are 1" to 4" wide and constantly advances new abrasive rolls at a speed from 1/16 to 1 1/2 ipm. No tools are needed to change the abrasive rolls, and a precision air pressure regulator ensures a uniform contact force between the work piece and the roller. Additionally, the oscillation drive features a counterbalance for smooth operation. The machine features controls that mount on the back, front or side, and left- or right-hand models are available for mounting in the front or back of a lathe.
