The Rota NCO, offered by Schunk Inc., is specifically designed for vertical turning centers in which contaminants are a hindrance to process reliability. The lathe chuck offers oth high clamping forces and long jaw stroke, packaged in a low-profile chuck body, the company says. This design is said to offer versatility and tool clearance.
Sealed to eliminate encroachment of chips and swarf with standard options for automated part recognition in unmanned operations, the chuck is also available with media feed-through capabilities (coolant, air and oil). A central lubrication option is available. Clamping force ranges from 95 kN to 330 kN, with jaw strokes ranging from 9 mm to 15 mm per jaw.
Sizes ranging from 165 mm to 500 mm are available.
