Leaders-In background

Useful for large-series operations in industries such as automotive and drive technology, Monforts’ MVC vertical pick-up lathe is fully automated. With an acceleration of almost 1 g, the blank is carried out of the workpiece magazine and into the work area for machining.

Also offered by the company is the MHC horizontal pick-up lathe. Features include   standard automation; a swing diameter of 560 mm; a turning diameter of 520 mm; and the ability to accomodate a maximum workpiece length of 260 mm. The feed drives travel in both axes at 30 m/min. The turret carries 12 tools (driven/fixed). The tailstock travels out of the work area towards the workpiece magazine on a “wear-free” round hydrostatic guide bar.

The horizontal design of the MHC allows it to be easily loaded by hand, even with the installed automation system, the company says. This machine is also suited to a large volume of chucker parts with short machining time, such as gears, brake discs and more.
