Emuge's MultiTap-Form is designed for use with a range of materials, including carbon steel, steel alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass and bronze. The general-purpose forming tap produces threads within both 2B and 3B classes of fit.
The tap features a geometric design, a grade of high speed steel (HSS-E) and a TiN coating for long life and versatility. A short chamfer lead of 1.5 to 2 pitch makes it well-suited for bottom tapping, while lubrication grooves enable coolant flow-to-form action for holes with long thread length. The long, DIN-length shank provides extra reach. Tap sizes include a range for UNC or UNF threads, from #4-40 to 3/8-24" sizes, to metric sizes from M4 × 0.7 to M10 × 1.5.
